hey guys. i posted a thread about this a little while ago and it didnt get much response and i was in the middle of sorting out the problem. but $1500 later and i still have the F***ing problem with my clutch. this is a short overview of exactly what ive done and exactly what isnt working with my clutch before my cylinder/clutch was touched it worked fine (when i first baught the car) my problem is that my clutch wont release pressure. like i drive it for 2-3days (depending on how much i drive) and my clutch starts to move outwards. like my friction point moves further out until finially it sits on the very edge of my fully released clutch. so u cant drive with it. its like driving with the clutch pushed half way it. so for me to drive my car, i bleed my clutch whenever i feel it building up pressure as my mechanics have cost me approx $1500 im not going back to them. im going to see an import nissan joint when i get time and see if they know. but i wanna run it past everyone on hear first. this is the stuff which has been done everything ive had done is brand new: slave cylinder master cylinder master cylinder then re-sleeved new exedy heavy duty clutch little tube which connects clutch assembly to master cylinder? i think thats right so thats pretty much an entire new clutch system so id ANYONE knows ANYTHING i would realy appreicate your time its driving me insane and killing my love for my zed please help guys! thanks for your time mitch
This is the exact same problem already explained on another current thread(please read that thread, "Clutch gremlins" by toniz). You need to have the clutch pedal adjustment done correctly in accordance with the proper procedure(including freeplay adjustment).
i've actually had the same problem develop recently. i still haven't figured it out though. try adjusting the clutch pedal (there's a tech somewhere) it's under the dash. what might be happening (and i could be wrong) the clutch may not be clamping completely, and so it causes lots of heat which heats up your clutch fluid, making clamp even less, creating more heat and so on. also your clutch booster might be stuffed. this is hear say from the weekend, but apparently the pedal goes to the booster, which then goes to the master cylinder. someone please correct me if i'm wrong as i don't know for sure. check out those bits and see how you go.
Same advice for you(read "Clutch gremlins" by member toniz)the complete answer is fully documented in that current thread.
Most aftermarket clutch kits are not set to the same height as the original. When the clutch and pressure plate heat up they expand. If your adjustment is not correct, the clutch release point will rise at the pedal. This can get bad enough to cause the clutch to slip. Follow that link to the other thread, I have posted how to adjust it there. Some one also posted a link to a tutorial with pics.
go to your abs dealer and tell him to run a line from your master to your slave , about 120$ all up problem fixed , your top bleed line has to much air in there , its alway a problem , well its the block , just get rid of it , once and for all ,, you dont need it ,, you will see the line on the drivers side next to the guard / hicas.. do this first before blowing your money just as you say . get one line made up,,, then re-bleed everything , take 1, 2 minutes to bleed even less ,
thanks chili, and everyone else who replyed. im gonna have a crack at adjusting my pedal and then see if i have the same problem
