So i recently got my new na zx fixed up for a r/w and im taking it back in to get the Clutch Plate replaced or somthing ($300 for the clutch kit he said + labour)

But im unsure as before i bought the car i was told the gearbox could do with a rebuild as some gears occasionally are hard to get into (1st is always a bit of a task and second sometimes take a bit to get into gear and occasionally 4th doesnt take to well). My mechanic seems to think that it is the clutch plate as its slips a little?

He told me when they do the clutch they can check the gearbox for me, which bring me to the question of... I have this zx which has not moved in a year atleast as it was not fixed after injector failed and rego ran out. The gearbox was mint before the injetor issues as was the majority of it.

What are the chances that gearbox would be ok still?

If the gearbox was mint before the injector issues it will still be the same if it hasn't moved.
Agree with your mechanic, new clutch will stop the drive line dragging and allow smooth gear changes.

    Step 1. Slap your mate

    Step 2. Profit

Wizard (as usual) is right on the money.

And even in the absolutely ridiculous scenario an engine just totally seizes after just sitting there for a year, it wouldn't affect the gearbox.

Let us know how it goes. Keen to hear :)
