My clutch pivot ball broke a while back and I'm having a bit of trouble finding a replacement. Thinking they would all be the same I ordered a chromoly one from coz. But the thread on the one he sent was smaller than mine and hence doesn't fit my gearbox. Check the photo, new chromoly one on the left, my broken one on the right.

So I think oh joy, 95 model zed strikes again.:bash:

But when I queried coz he said the only different part number was the 96+ Euro model.

So I get Coz to order one in and he just got beck to me saying it's the same as the other ones he's got, so no match for me and is stumped as the where mine came from.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm not that great when it comes to tracking down obscure parts in the world of zed.

    Helicoil is

    Basicaly a thread repair kit,
Drill out the old one and replace it with a new one, easy if you have the kit, most mechanics do.

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

Thing is looking close at that pix, the replacement pivot is using an M8 x 1.5 thread but the original appears to be an M10 x 1.25.

It makes me wonder if the pivot has been damaged before and the thread was drilled and cut for a pivot off another Nissan. They pretty much all use the same item.

There will not be enough "meat" in the housing to drill and recut the thread to suit the helicoil which will have to be a 1.5mm pitch.

Where are you in Tas M8?
I have a couple of different Nissan boxes here to compare.
