Can anyone help me with my clutch issue?
Recently set up boost controller in the car and got a stable 12psi (supporting mods were done first before anyone asks)
Clutch was slipping right around peak torque in 3rd gear. Went and read up on it, saw that its generally just air in the system and it needs to be bleed. Saw the note about the 2 points (one above and one below)
Proceeded to bleed system. Old fluid was horrid, but was easy to see when the fresh fluid made its way through. Also made sure to top up MC frequently to avoid any air being reintroduced.
The problem now is, I can't get the pedal back to how it was (hard to push down all the way through the pedal's travel) and it only firms up around 2 inches through the pedal.
have checked lines and lines are still air free.
any help please as I refused to drive it when I know the clutch isnt working as it should.

    Re: Clutch issue....

Air in the hydraulic system will not cause a slipping clutch.

Think about it, what happens when you depress the clutch pedal?

The master cylinder forces fluid down the pipe causing the rod in the slave cylinder to move outwards, this causes the clutch fork to force the throw out bearing against the fingers on the pressure plate, which in turn releases pressure on the clutch plate.

Air anywhere in the hydraulic system will compress & can result in difficulty disengaging the clutch.

As far as the clutch slipping, it is more likely the clutch is worn & requires replacement.

As far as air in the hydraulic system, the system hasn't been bled properly.

There will undoubtedly be some on this forum that will suggest the problem will relate to the air bleed line running from the slave cylinder to the top of the OS inner guard.

You can follow this advice if you like, but the truth is the reason the air remains in the system is, the system hasn't been bled properly.

As it looks like you could be up for a replacement clutch, perhaps you may consider installing "Speed Bleeders" in lieu of the OEM bleed nipples, as they will simplify the bleeding procedure.

    This helps

:zlove: TRY THIS ! Jack up the front of the car as high as you can get it of the ground. Then bleed the system at the bleed nipple near the upright on the drivers side.:)
