gday everyone i am new to Zs..got my first one last weekend.. i has a few problems but one thats driving me nuts is this clicking noise coming from the dash.. it clicks for a bout 3 sec every 6 sec... i know it has something to do with the demister because if i turn it on...the clicking stops.. how do i fix this problem... by the way i think this forum is great!!! i have already fixed a few problems just by searching on here.. plus managed to find some parts i was after... cheers Rod
There are electically operated "doors" in the heating /cooling ducts that alter the direction of the air according to the settings. It sounds like one of the actuators is trying to move a door but can't and it only stops when you put the control to screen demist. Suggest you leave it on that till you can find the cause, otherwise it could damage the actuator. Others will be more familiar with the details and best way to fix.
trace the noise back to one of them black boxes under the dash and unplug it (temporarily anyway) i removed my heater core and aircon system and got that bloody ticking noise so i did just that and the black box is still unplugged.
