    Hey Chrisp,

You could get a Soarer. Lots of misinformation posted lately.

Very practical car. You can even put adults in the back seat. Very quiet and extremely comfy. As fast as you care to make it. Not as well handling or exciting as a zed though. I'll sell you mine !

Yeah, I have practically talked myself into the Supra now  Still want to drive a few R34's before I start my search for the new car though. My last car was a Toyota and NOTHING went wrong with that no matter how I abused it, it did try and kill me, but I won :p

The idea of huge power with just turbo, injectors and tune does sound good

I originally looked at the Soarers before I got the Z. When I mentioned them to my Dad, he said "Thought only middle age woman drove those" Their nice cars, very cushy, but I still like the "proper" sports cars, even if they do have a rough ride and are noisy on the highway, well once I finish with them  I also love the mountains, so a soarer would be out of it's comfort zone when I'm off having fun (specially the V8's with their cloud suspension).

    ahh rats

Rats are always the first to leave a sinking ship!
Whos goona be the captain and stay for the bitter end haha.

Hmm supras look cool in pics and movies, but when i saw one for real it seemed disproportionately huge for some reason. and twice the price of a Z on average too, i couldnt really see why.

disproportionately. now theres a word only geeks use.:bash:

They are, they're massive boats of a car like the 350Z but they are very quick with some work. As soon as Chrispy said he liked the JZ motors it doesn't take a genius to work out he was going for a Supra! :) Ah well, if that's what it takes for NA dudes to see the light then all the power to them lol J/K! Although in the land of the Z gods, buying a Supra is like banging your brothers wife haha

Haha, gee they must be awesome then! ;)

revived this for ya chrispy, so do you have your heart set on a GTST? i assume you have driven a few of em? i looked at a few beofre i bought my zed , i had about 15 grand and i wanted to buy the best car i could, i was even going to throw a bit more money in myself and buy a ropey GTR. now reasonable 32GTR's are down to 20 grand, one of those will probably be my next car.

Really not interested in a R32 GTR, too old and too many of my mates have them. Suprisingly only one of my mates has a R33, so it's not that common :p

I was looking for a R34, but a '98 R34 is $10k more than a '97 R33  For the money and the age of the car I can't really go past it.

The MR2's are way too thin on the ground for a late model turbo one. Doing the conversion is a pain in the arse as practically everything in the driveline has to be changed from the gear box to the driveshafts to the hubs.

yeah i forgot you wanted a "new " car. my favourite time for cars was late 80's, early 90's.

i dont think the skylines are bad cars, i just think that they are overvalued and i dont like the following of fully sik boys.

Since you are into handling too i would not reccomend a Mr2, lift off oversteer like nothing else. very stack-able !!

I agree that a lot of Skyliners are fUlLy sIK bRos, I much prefer the Z community. The SAU forum is a mess anyway and really slow, I'll only really go there for parts and looking for tech articles.

I have heard of plenty of very nasty MR2 crashes too, if you are an exceptional driver you'll be OK, otherwise your backwards through a hedge. The only way to recover if your into a corner too fast is to boot it and hope for the best  I don't think I could keep it longer than 6 months without throwing it off a mountain.
