Had some work done on the zed yesterday. When I went to pick it up I noticed that the bonnet was sitting much higher on one side and the panel gap on either side was uneven. I pointed this out to the mechanic as it wasn't like that when I left the car in the morning. His first reaction was to pop the bonnet to see if he'd left a scredriver or something under there. Nothing there. Much scratching of heads and denials of damaging the car. Then he said to shift the car from the very uneven grassy hill the car was parked on. As soon as the car was on level ground the bonnet and panel gap returned to normal. Chassis flex. Really unbeliveable how much flex there must be to that. Considering that these are heavy, solid cars what must some of the lightweight Koreans etc be like?
Targa?? The z32 targa zeds do have quite a bit of chassis flex.... The slicktops are much more sturdy apparantly....
lol yep these cars have flex... also...have you checks your bonnet bobbins??? maybe they need to be adjusted...
ally bonnet. if you close it over night with a screw driver or shirt under there to pop the bonnet up you can bend them easily
While doing a bit of research on whether to get a z32 or not I came across this article which talks about reinforcing the chassis rails with structural foam... http://sportcompactcar.automotive.com/46826/0006scc-project-nissan-300zx-part-5/index.html
