centre bearing on the tail shaft

    How do u take off this bearing? i can see a large nut on the tail shaft going into the gearbox and dont know if i have to undo this to get the center bearing off. :confused: :confused:

    Can any one shed some light on what i have to do?

    there is a tech for this in the tech section at the top of the page. go there and search for "centre bearing". you'll see a tech titled "How to replace the driveshaft center bearing". Have fun!!!

    Yes you do, and its a bastard as it will be tight as. I have only ever managed to get them off with a rattle gun.

    also how do you guys manage to get the bearing off without a press?

    I could either press it off :) OR get the nut off, turn it around screw it back on and persuade it to come out with a hammer and some WD40

    Use a pulley puller.

    Mine just slipped off with a gentle love tap...

    But yes, bastard nut, need rattle gun.

    with the big 27mm nut i took it to a guy to take off and then every thing came off with a little bit of elbow grease lol.
