Abandoned as in.... Several such towns in the area that were home to many many thousands of mining and farming families. As the coal ran out in such areas, so did the townships. There are some that aren't looked after anymore and aren't 'accepting new members' so to speak and haven't been used in 50-100 years. So ner!
I completely agree, people need to relax. I think the white grave stones go with the white cars well. I personally do not think it is disrespectful in any way. They didn't pose on the grave stones or do burnouts or something..
I don't see a problem with the cemetery It is a place of beauty and reflection. The white cars add to the beauty of the grave stones. Watch one of these pictures for a couple of minutes and see what your mind tells you
Some very nice pics there. I don't see any disrespect to those being displayed. It would be worse if no one visited the site and the graves were allowed to fall into ruin.
LOL and we shouldn't have soldiers in Uniform at Anzac day? reminds me of when I was taking snaps of my car at the War museum. A busy body woman that worked there stuck her nose in to find out WHY i was there. Even though she then was told by others working their that I had permission, she commented on how much my car was "polluting the air" .....she works at a WAR museum
I to don't see what the problem is. Maybe if you were parked up on the grass I'd have a teary. Cool photos, both cars are looking hot. Same color as mine
to be honest, i find this location makes more sense than the pics you see of zeds (or other cars) on boat ramps by the side of the river. WHY would a sportscar be near a ramp at the waters edge? Makes no sense.
Nope. Many of them are between 60-80 years old and died about 20 to 30 years ago. It is just a normal cemetery where veterans (even if they only served one tour) are laid to rest.
I've been to Arlington war cemertry in DC, i can understand why you choose such a place , they are quite a moving place . ross
soldiers commemorating fallen mates is different to posing a tank at a graveyard. This is all off topic and besides the point, just saying that you've got extremely warped views if you believe a tank is more approapriate than a sportscar at a memorial/grave site.
