Cover is like most of its age with the plastic covering of the metal peeling back on the top surface + slight surface rust on the top surface. I recently brought new plastic hooks for it, and the cover is in fairly good condition. Still works 100%, just needs for the steel to be re-covered in that plastic type material/ painted. pickup only Kenmore $50
