Thought of a Christmas present for your Zed yet?
How about a brand new cargo area carpet?

I recently bought a new one for my 2+2 from Nissan - crazy expensive & not as plush as the early models got :( but miles & miles better than the stingy / thin / you've-got-to-be-kidding stuff that Nissan put in the '93-'96 models. Perhaps the cargo area carpets that Nissan now sell were the ones they put in the '97 onwards models - who cares.

Anyway, a mate just bought from the US an aftermarket cargo area carpet which makes what I just paid bucket loads for... look very over priced.
It's a perfect fit, it's at least as plush / thick & heavy as the '90 model's cargo area carpet & has very good quality sound matting on the under side - just like the original (only brand new!). The only things that this non-genuine version doesn't have is:
    - slits cut for the targa roof straps (so what!)
    - holes for the fastening plugs (obviously you just make these holes yourself)
Apart from that, it's equal quality, thicker & more plush than what I just paid twice as much for from Nissan...

So, if at least 10 people are interested in a group buy, these brand new cargo area carpets (only for 2+2's at this stage) would be just $150 each including shipping to Australia + probably $20 or $30 postage to your door (because they're quite large & fairly heavy).

If you don't think that's a bargain - just give Nissan a call & get a price on theirs!

    Below are pics of:-
    - the non-genuine, really nice one
    - then the genuine, really expensive one

I managed to get a new old stock genuine Nissan cargo mat for $250. Got a mate who works for a dealer chain track one down. Nissan part number, all the right holes and all the right clips. They're usually $400.

Below are some Australian made cargo mats (not genuine Nissan). If their floor mats are anything to go by then they will be fantastic quality. Choice of colours too.

Only $135 + about $20 postage (depending on where you live).

Thanks, yes that's very helpful considering I was trying to offer a group buy for a far superior product for the same sort of money. I'm familiar with all-car-carpets - for the price you're talking about the pile isn't as thick (so it doesn't look as good & won't last as well), they don't have the extra thick backing for additional sound deadening at that price & the underside matting isn't particularly well glued-on. But since you're the only respondent, I won't bother continuing to offer the favour to the forum - at $150 including shipping to Australia - it's not like there was anything in it for me - I was simply offering members the opportunity to purchase a product which I reckon is far better quality than what you can get from Nissan these days for more than twice the price. Hey, do you also drive a pink barina? Your Avitar pic sure looks like someone I saw washing one the other day.

Apologies if I offended you mate. Didn't mean to do that. Just offering an alternative. All for the greater good. Hope that's ok.

No need to get too personal about my photo too. That picture was taken during my short lived acting career. I'm not doing it much anymore but it does remind me of the creek where we used to live.

    Peace.

Nice reply, very decent of you. I'm sorry for the out of place comment.
Anyway, from what I've heard, GB's are a time-consuming headache.

I think those links are only showing the cargo carpet for the Z31 models - I would definetely have been in for this - what a shame.
