Ok I've just replaced the water pump and put a new air con compressor on my Zed. 100k service was carried out when engine had rebuild with forgies but water pump wasn't replaced. Any how i got everthing back together and it wont start it back fire a couple of times. So first thought was the timing must be out although i never touched the timing. So i dialed it up all timing mark align correctly. So second guess is the PTU as i know how sensitive these become with age and heat over the years. Has anyone else had this problem or know of it. I thought they usually just fail????

could be many things... waterpump calls for the timing belt off? can't remember... if yes its possible its out of alignment...

could be injectors/coilpack plugs connected to the wrong ones...

Sell it to me cheap, its stuffed :D

Water pump is done with out removing the timing belt, so that should be ok. I would be pointing at the ptu or cas connector, check for error codes, clean the connectors and try again.

Timing belt wasn't removed. But the plug from the cas was removed and wiring and ptu I had hanging over the front of the car. I just just seperated the ptu and wiring and going to relocated in front of left strut tower. Anyone have series 2 ptu and harness for sale :)
