So it happens again, second z and broken into again. Sometime last night someone broke my passenger side window and stole all the stereo gear from the Z. Stolen are: Rockford component speakers and tweeter JVC head unit Pioneer shallow mount subwoofer Pioneer monoblock amplifier Autometer boost gauge Autometer water temp gauge And the damaged parts are (ones that I need to buy now Passenger side window Both door cards are ripped They stole my stereo brackets dammit And the whole drier side A-pillar trim with the gauges Broken ECUTalk This was in south Perth, in an apartment carpark. So what I'm thinkin now, is no more stereo in the z. I don't drive it enough to justify one, and when I do I usually have windows down and hearing the car noises instead. Put the stereo money into better car security and more powarrr If anyone can help out with the bits I need please pm me. It's a black 2+2 I don't think the stuff will be sold anywhere, probably some scum wanting doof doof in their sh*tbox or trade it from some meth. Also can someone point me to information about the ZID? Thanks y'all.
ZID is an immobiliser. sounds like you need a proper alarm that's gonna wake the neighbourhood if the scum bags ever tries the same.
As far as I'm aware a ZID will only prevent someone from being able to start the car to steal the car, not prevent someone breaking in to the car and stealing your stuff.
That really sucks, Felix. I've had my Z broken into twice, both times by smashing a window. My alarm went off, but they just grabbed what they could & bolted. I bought myself a Rhino alarm with glass sensor, yet to install it but great units. I too have decided to remove my car audio gear for the same reasons.
Yeah, with this second break in I think I'm going to go in a different direction with the Z, since it never really gets driven much I'm going to go with almost no stereo; go for a more "pure" sports car. Just listen to the engine and exhausts. Funnily thats what I felt after the first break in, wanted to buy an oldschool Z and just have nothing in it...nice devil Z style. Spend the money of a good stereo on a good alarm and immoboliser...and a gopro HD :-D And Jamie's a great help, have pretty much all the parts to get the car back in shape. Just need some stereo brackets...and a second DIN pocket...
Ah that really sucks!! I came back to my car today and some little f***wit has ran across the bonnet and put and dent in it... so angry... I'd be writing this from a jail cell if id caught the shithead in the act i tell you now..
Heres my baby : Happened in Mindarie area on 27th of May around 4 am...Alarm didn't go off cause they didn't open the door Stole my laptop which is not valuable at all except all the pictures for last 5 years. Now its a REAL PITA to find that ****ing 1/4 window. Should leave my car open next time...
