    Hi,
My girlfriends white 300zx twin turbo was broken into last night in Langford WA. They took a GPS unit and a bunch of cds (whoop de doo) and the service papers (not to mention leaving the car smelling bad and sand all over the seats).
The insurance company turns around and says they want $500 excess and cant give any money back for contents unless the receipt is in her name.
So who's worse, the smelly bastards that stole my stuff, or the insurance company that wants money for nothing.
    :bash:

They want you to give them money for the excess? That seems odd.

Usually they just pay you out the amount for the claim minus the excess.

I think what he meant was, her excess in the policy is $500

so if the stuff is worth less, not worth the claim.

And of course the whole "receipts" thing sucks balls.

to the OP, hope you get justice soon and find the little pricks.

Just follow the smell ;) :D

Funny how some insurance companies wont touch you unless you have a garage. And yet a garage provides the thief a perfect hiding place giving him/her more time to do as they please  and often providing them with the tools to do it too

Judging by the lingering smell in the cabin and the sand on the seats, i can be fairly certain of the ethnic origin of the perpetrators. Not that this helps. I'm going to check my neighbour's bins for the service papers.

lol i use to live in Langford... definitely not the nicest suburb in Perth. Mum and Dad (who still live there) keep their cars garaged all the time.
