recently bought a 1995 import first Aust owner..:) got this long computer cable in the glove box 1.5 - 2 m. I guess its an ECU connection.. being an import is it possible that it has international connectivity?? Why is it there? What should I be looking for? Any info would be appreciated

    ECU connector is

about 1.5" long and about 3/4 inches wide. It's normally found near the bonnet release lever.

    It's not the ECU plug...

I had a quick look at it, it doesn't look factory to me. I reckon that there may have been a piggyback unit or something similar that was kept in the glove box.

    That's my guess anyway.

    its probably and EBC cable

check the ECU by taking out the passenger seat floor panel. See if any wires are spliced and cross reference with the EBC installation guide in the tech section. IF the same wires correspond to the guide then there was likely an EBC there.

If its and actual piggy back ecu there should be some brand marking on the ECU unit, i think. They way i found out that i had a modified ECU was by first checking if i could rev over 7000 and go over 180km/hr.
