    5K1TZX Its all never ending....

I decided to buy some new 18's or possibly 19's tomorrow. I have always run with RE55S semi slicks...currently all worn and need replacing. So insted of spending 2 odd grand on JUST tyres I thought i'd get a change of rims.

I want to know what I should ask for (offset wise) to get a lush dish on the rear while having the face of the rim sit as flush with the guards as I can.

Wanting a staggered set too so what front and rear offset should I ask for??

    Cheers :)

    what width are you chasing?
you can go with these widths, they will easily fit on any zed without modification....

    18or19 x 9.5" +35 (rear)
    18or19 x 8.5" +30 (front)

with these width rims, anything close to those offsets will fit fine.
    just get a test fit.

Mate, I think it's funny you SMS me to check the forum... When you could have just asked me in the SMS!!! :bash:

I have told you more than once mofo, so I hope you are listen (reading) this time. I don't know what my offset is. I have checked the rims, and it's not printed on them. You are more than welcome to cruise down and check for yourself, I'm just sitting on my arse all day. I can't check the website, as the offset I have is discontinued.

Did you know Ian has bought new rims for his Z? He might be happy to sell the others, I know you are a fan of them.

    Lastly, eat a d!ck.

sorry to hijack and resurect a thread......

rims.... there's a set i have my eye on at a VERY good price.

    2 things worry me though

1, the fronts are 18x8.5 with +35 ....will this be too big a diference?
2, The spokes curve IN to create more dish but I fear this may create brake clearance issues :(

Thinking very seriously about doing a test fit.

    18* 9s on the front +30
    18*11.5 on the rear +42

regardless of offset, caliper clearance is to do with spoke design.
The offset you posted (+35) will fit fine but definately get a test fit done :)

    Whaaa???
did you have to pump the guards? or just roll them?
What size tyres do you run on them? and for god's sake, post a pic of these! :)

    nope no rolling of fenders.

its got brand new 265s on them from japan...
its funny . they actually look tiny on the rims !! will be going for a 295 or even a 305 if it will fit under there nicely !!

Yeah its the spoke im more worried about. Didn't think 5mm would be a drama

    Rims are Manaray VR5's.

(This is NOT the ones for sale. got this from google images)

ahh, well stretching a 265 over an 11.5" rim is pretty tiny. I'd say you'll definately have to roll the lip if you go the 295's though. would love to see on-car piccies when you get them on, and compare where the lip on the rim ends compared with the guard.

nice looking rim btw, they look a bit like veilsides.

I wish I knew what my offset is, as it is perfect in the rear. Rims sit flush with the car, with a little bit of camber to tuck the tyres under the guards :)
I had to have my guards rolled, and slightly pumped.

    slightly pumped is perfect imho

They should have done it in the nissan factory if you ask me. Its missing shape in the arse (more so the 2+2 before you all flame me ;) )
