Hey guys my zed started making a knocking/tapping noise, only comes on when I'm going above 30/40 and not all the time. The knocks are perfectly intermittent and the faster I go, the faster the knocks. I was thinking the driveshaft or diff?? I'm pretty sure the noise is coming from the rear wheels
    it's already jacked up
any help with this is appreciated, and I need it to get to work :S

Diff is unlikely, have a good look at the centre bearing on the tailshaft.

Lift it up and turn the wheels by hand.

Going through a similar thing with my Triton at the moment, got it on stands tonight and turns out there is a shitload of play in the uni joint at g/box end.

Okay it's in neutral, jacked up and we turned the wheels, looking at the uni joint we noticed a noise coming from the gbox, like it was still moving something inside it. :S not sure if it should or not but...

okay so i jacked the zed up and started it. sure enough theres a really quiet knocking/ticking noise and as i applied the accelerator it got louder and faster, its definately coming from the wheels and nowhere near the diff or driveshaft, or uni joint

so i was thinking it could be a wheel bearing, heard very little about them other than when they go they make a similar sound.

how much would this cost to fix/replace? and where can i get it done?

Not sure, it's at my mates workshop atm. Get new wheels and some other work done. So I'll find out soon.
