My car has extreme brake squeel when braking and has now developed a whisling sound when driving, the whistleing goes away when you tap the brake but then returns moments later. Annoyed at this as new brakes and disks are about 20,000km old. The brake squeel has always been there due to brakes being Bendex Ultimates, but I've had it now. Any good places get rid of this squeel/whistleing in Melb? NOTE: brakes pads are still very meaty, I have already tried machineing the disks. Mate of mine said something about shims, but I dont know what I'm looking for. Cheers.
Have a look at page BR-12 in manual to see pad and shim setup. If you are not a fan of the Ultimates maybe change to QFM A1RM.
