brake shudder after new rotors?

Just changed rotors recently and sometimes under braking it feels like rotors are warped and need machining. The old rotors definetly didn't shudder like this.

Is there anything in particular that would cause this other than warped rotors?

Also I read somewhere that you need to machine 300 rotors whilst on the car. Would most mechanics be able to do this or would they take em off?

a new set of pads should fix this up. try bendix ultimates.

i have had the same problem before.

nah changed the pads at the same time. :(

maybe they didn't bed in properly as I wasn't very agressive with the rotors for the first 200k or so??

The new pads may have glazed

are your new rotors slotted? If so then the pads probably didn't glaze I would think. I had a shuddering problem ages ago (faster I was going the worse the shudder), and it was the pads. (they were newish too)

any way I can tell if they didn't glaze?

Yes they were slotted rotors. Assuming the pads didn't glaze I guess I need to put in a new set to fix this?

I know places around here do free brake inspections

Might be worthwhile seeing if you can get a free brake inspection (if there are any available) around your area.

Maybe the wheel nuts have been overtightened
