    Gurus,
I have a very slow brake fluid leak from around the brake master cylinder. It takes several months for the brake fluid warning light to come on indicating low fluid. I can see fluid seepage below the master clylinder but no puddles on teh ground. Seems to have been doing it for a long time!
Are their any seals in that area that may be leaking or is it something more serious!

    Advice and experince welcomed!
    Cheers

    BMCyl leak

Usually manifests itself in a weep from rear of BMC, runs down booster, removing paint.

Get it recond. @ approx $150. Easy to r&r yrself but you'll need to bleed system upon re-fit.

    Might want to look

at repainting the stripped section and rust proofing. Thats what i had done to mine when my BMC let go.

Also, look inside the car for leakage into the footwell. I only

detected a leak in my clutch master cylinder because I found some fluid on the clutch pedal. Fortunately it hadn't been leaking for too long. I had topped up the reservoir once, thinking at that time it was the slave cylinder leaking - I should have confirmed it at the time.

    cheers,

    Peter
