Boxes to boxes

I was wondering our VG30dett manual gearboxes have the same internal gearsets as the RB26 and GTR boxes. I know the front gearbox bellhousing cast is different but I was wondering if the GTR box bolts straight into the Z32 tunnel using the Z32 crossmember and locates in the same position.

Is there any other dramas with this setup. Is the output shaft compatible with the Z32 tailshaft.

the guys doing rb swaps use the z32 box with the r32 bell housing. they say its 2 much work to swap gears or use a rb box!!

Would a Supra 6 speed need a alot of modding to fit in a Z?

 

short answer ... YES !!! if it was worth it the tt.net guys would be running them ...

fact of the matter vg30 boxes are good.

if you want more gears go to a 350z box but they are weaker

or if your into dragracing get a th400 drag auto box.....

or if your a normal person with a normal amount of money use your stoc k box or get a 98 box with the super strong goodies allready installed!
