My mates dad just passed away, which was a blow for all of us, but I bought his car this morning.

A 1991 Lexus LS400... the old bloke bought it new for about $130,000 and has done about 100K km in it. Just had a $2,500 service done actually. I read a few articles on the car and the concensus seems to be that its a smooth refined v8 that goes ok. So i'm pretty happy! No pics yet, but its white, leather, sunroof, car phone, tv, etc. and entirely immaculate. No panels have ever been resprayed, no scratches, unmarked leather, blah blah blah.

This could mean the end of my very short relationship with the 300zx...

    They are a beautiful car.!

I'd sell my Z twice over for that.

Or how about i trade you my Z for it instead????

    SERIOUSLY

They are a very smooth car, engines are renound for very limited movement.

You have electric everything don't you????

What i'd give to have that car.

Hope you enjoy it, if you don't trade it for my Z.

    Cheers

    Fate

Have heard nothing but good reviews about the LS400...

Well done, at least you know that the kays on this one is "genuine". I guess with all luxury cars, the maintenance costs will be expensive, but I figured that you already know that.

    Good One. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

You can get them from Japan for the same price as a zed

    Called a Celsior.
Better specs than the Oz variety
$10k should get a nice one
Beautiful cars, not sporty, but a limo style thing

Toyota Celsiors don't have all the Lectric functions from memory.

Whereas the Lexus versions have ALL the options.

    Still a lovely car.

Pick up the better ones for round the 20 grand mark.

    DAMN SEXY RIDES.

    Au contrair

I recently bought a Japanese Celsior (aka Lexus LS400) for my Dad... 35,000km, total minter :)

The top of the line C-type F-package Celsior has many more features than the Lexus version sold locally, the biggest ones off the top of my head are that the Australian versions never got airbag suspension, and they didn't get all of the lazy-bastard features of the F-package like rear electric seats, rear electric head rests, rear vibrate, rear climate control, rear radio control, rear heated seats, and so on. I think there were actually a lot of things the Aus cars missed out on but I won't go into them as I'll probably get some wrong. Let's just say the F-package is for the truly lazy would rather push a button that do the simpliest of things themselves manually :)

It WAS an incredibly smooth gorgeous car... for the one day i owned it!!!

My mates mum called me last night crying... "oh rohan, could you please bring back the car? etc". I returned it at 10 last night.

I dont think she was quite ready to let go... he'd had the car like 15 years and really loved it... hmm, its all very sad. Im missing the car phone already. She's too old to drive now, so maybe she'll just hang onto it for a little while then give it back to me. Lucky my mate didnt just sell it to a caryard like he was going to - they would have really had issues then, with the mum i mean.

Its a surprisingly quick car! Mmm, leather... That thing and the Z are the perfect combination...

I knew you could import a celsior... but getting that one for $14K in absolutely unbelievable mint condition meant it really was a better deal. Services at Lexus at least every 6 months SINCE NEW. Less than 6 months, and he hardly drove the thing! Drools...

i thought trhe LS series was an Aristo and the GS series was the Celsior. Either way...
