Hi just got the Z home from the mechanic as i am no Z expert but i am a general mechanic dont know much about tubos and i dont know much about these Zs but i can with a little help. i got the following faults L&R muffler pipe leaking Rocker Cover Leaking L&R Turbos leaking Oil LF intercooler piping leaking LF shock leaking i can do these i have read the technical help the engine bay is a mess all over no space to work. i have worked on the shock area that should be no problem. need some pointers and howto's please reading technical section now
Mufflers - get some cannons to replace them at any exhaust shop. Oil leaks - get the underneath steaam cleaned to find out if it is leaking and were, just in case its not just build up. In the past I have had them just make me steam clean the block and thats enough, but clean all the junk of then go from there. Inertcooler piping - Tighten it up or geta new piece of pipe, and again steam cleaning off all the car grime greas crap will help. Shocks - can be replaced relatively cheaply for standard ones - I just got a set of stock spares (while my others are being rebuilt)off Ebay for $100. Or go allout and get some good expensive ones. All depends on how much you wish to spend and what you can do yourself, MattB
Just had the car detailed didnt look under the hood as yet properly will do that and do i really have to change the mufflers or just the piping because the mufflers are original BLITZ ones they sound awesome
Did they clean the engine block though! Fixing the exhaust depends on where the hole is. If its only rust in the pipes just replace them aslong as there is no holes in the mufflers. mb
