    before: rough idle, no smoke
after: reconnecting a vacuum hose to the nipple underneath the passenger side throttle body my z has started blowing white smoke.

I've since replaced all injector connectors, coolant temp sensor and am currently doing coil pack connectors, there is a slight exhaust leak from where the cat temp sensor has been removed. i've just changed the oil and oil filter and i'm yet to get consult onto this as i don't have a cable (yet).
i let the fuel pressure go down by letting the car idle for 5-10 minutes and then accelerate to about 3krpm i get black puddles on the floor next to the exhaust tips.
pcv valves? o2 sensors? cats? i really didnt think that reconnnecting a vacuum hose would cause problems rather than solve them.
    cheers guys:zlove:

Please make sure you HAVENT hooked up a WATER hose from the washers or the overflow bottle to the throttlebody by mistake.....
Go check , follow the vac line and make sure its not from either of the above.
Dont start it till your sure.

    cheers

That nibble under the pass side TB goes to the carbon canister from memory. The only way into trouble there is if you hooked up the overflow bottle to the TB and the radiator cap to the carbon canister. Not ideal in any way shape or form

You may have escaped unharmed as at idle you won't get enough fluid sucked through the closed butterfly's to lock the motor. I would, as suggested investigate fairly promptly.

i'm not currently with the car, but the hose was came from a nipple directly inline with the nipple on the TB at the front of the car.
sorry for the dumb questions, but is that nipple for the CC? should it have been blocked off when a delete took place?
    cheers,
    james

i've read this comment over a few times and it still confuses me... this vacuum line is under the passenger side tb.

there's a nipple directly under the passenger side throttle body, this is for the carbon canister vac line

i disconnected this vacuum hose last night after fixing an exhaust leak, no longer blowing white smoke, no noticeable knocking or ticking, no oil leaks, fuel pressure ok, idle smooth, no flat spots on acceleration, oil and coolant levels ok. Drove 30 minutes one way and back, idling at red lights and everythings seems aok.
hopefully i got away with this one unharmed.
one final question however, should the nipple under the passenger side TB be blocked off with a rubber stopper of some description?
    thanks.
