Finishing off putting my dash back together after taking out the heater box and putting a new heater core in and I'm in the process of putting everything back where it goes, PITA Anyway there's this little black box with an electrical connector that goes to it, and a massive bracket that attaches to it, any idea where the bracket screws into for these that have pulled the dash before? I can't find it and it's driving me nuts!! Here's a pic of the item anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Aha! yeah that makes sense, here I am digging around upside down near the heater box swearing my ass off looking for holes and threads, lol. Thanks Chad mate!!
haha i rememebr when i did that bout 6 months ago, but instead of having a mistery bracket i had a few screws and bolts. a particular bolt has a funny little rin on the shaft below the head. so its rather special but i have no clue where it goes,if any one knows tell me please, and all these little "spare" bolts live in my glove box still. gets on my nerves still
That is one of the bolts that holds the dash in place up near the windscreen under the vents. The shoulder stops the plastic in the dash from getting crushed and deformed.
isnt that black box the speed/lights chime? You might want to leave it out, that thing can get damn anoying at 110km/h.
Isn't it also the "You've left your headlights on" chime? That can be pretty useful. You can easily disable the speed chime bit with a pair of side cutters.
thats what i thought bout the plastic. just had no idea where it went, thank you soo much again tek.i have the erge to strip the whole thing to put it all back together to make sure i put all the bolts and screws, maybe a nut or two, back in place.
Man I'll buy you a beer if you strip the whole dash to replace some bolts and screws, I swear I'm never doing this shit job ever, ever again! lol.
