going to drive it for a few months road /track and sought out the suspension ,see if it over or understeers and adjust. meanwhile give me a chance to save up some cash. might do some interior work when car gets back ,sound deadning removed ,dash /ac fan removal all the fun stuff battery relocate also EDFC to be hooked up. retrim and new seats is the plan.
Finally picked up the beast . Had ABS fail due to drivers side wheel sensor . Also replaced an old timing belt tensioner which was noisy and about to fall apart .(very lucky) While everything was apart I had the new BDE VCT gears installed Since I had adjustable Jun Gears And no VVT. The amount of torque I gained from 2000-5700rpm was unbelievable. with VVT on... it was spinning on dyno continuously.. (have to get better tyres and put it on again). Took it for a drive with 4.10 leaders and VVT . RESULT: Under accelaration it is braking traction 1st 2nd and 3rd gear . over 100km/hr DRIFTS:thumbup: SUSPENSION -like on rails BRAKES -Awesome here are some pics..
What's that rear wing? And I'm not a fan of those wheels... Looks like you painted some big chromies black.
It's a R34 wing. exactly they are a cast alloy and were chrome until powdercoated.. at least they clear the brakes for now until the TE37's come.
I am impressed with the power out put you have with the stock turbos. What mods have been done on the turbos? I would appreciate any tech info on the mods as I am about to have mine modded but not sure if these guys know what they are doing. Cheers
I high flowed the stock turbos (manual housing .63a/r)with these cores. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT28/GT2871R_743347_1.htm but most people use these http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT25/GT2560R_466541_1.htm http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT28/GT2860RS_739548_1.htm
So all of this is still done with the standard 15 yr old bottom end? I thought you have gone to the gt28RS turbos. Awesome power with the standard cores, not sure if i want to do a turbo upgrade as my standards turbos have been rebuilt and in good condition. I suppose going from n/a to a TT swap running 12psi will be a huuggeee difference in itself.
Were there any mods required to get the Ball Bearing Cores to fit the std Exhaust Housings apart from re-profiling to fit the larger Exhaust Wheels?
bottom end is fresh new rings bearings but stock as are turbos (6000km old). this is my old upgrade.car isnt a daily driver just a toy. have the GT28RS which are going on just waiting on a few parts and saving some money.
Can the stock 200sx (S13) T25 turbos be used as a budget replacement/upgrade for the 300? Could this turbo fit, has anyone done this. The exhaust wheel looks a lot larger so maybe a bit laggy.
