    :wacko:

    Ok, on Sunday was driving along and noticed my Temperature gauge getting a bit jumpy. Infact it was'nt jumping towards hot, it was skydiving towards cold. In neutral, the tempertaure would read normal,including applying throttle in neutral. At a constant speed, in gear without acceleration it would read normal, but when I give it some throttle,in gear my temperature needle acts like vacuum and plummets towards cold. Its just as responsive as tachometer, when applying throttle too! Anyone seen or had this problem before? I'm guessing (hoping)its electrical.
    Hope thats clear enough for ya all, I ain't joking lol

    And I'll bet that the Coolant Temp Sensor

    (right next to it on the hardpipe) is corroded too!

    I have bulk bought a hundred of the metal connector pins that go inside the CTS, coilpacks and injector plugs. If yours (or anyone elses) are too far gone and you can't clean them, let me know and I'll mail you a couple free of charge.

    (The whole replacement plug is something around $25 ish!)

    Thanks!

    Cleaned both the temp & coolant sensor, no corrosion just some gunk. Took her for a test drive and its all sweet. :zlove: Thx for the quick reply, nice to know for the future. :thumbsup:

    See some of u zedders at the next melbourne dyno day :cool:

    At the front of the engine.....>>

    On the upper of the two water pipes there are two sensors that read temperature. One is for the ECU and one is for the gauge. Can you identify what is broken in the picture below?

    yes, thanks for the pic it helps heaps.......

    to the left of the picture is a red plug. the part that is broken is the bit that attaches to it with some wires coming out of it. It usually has some sort of rectagular metal clip that holds it down. and if it helps, it sounds like the fan starts spinning when i unplug it while the engine is running.

    Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

    That is the ECU temp sender.....>>

    And the reason it sounds like the fan starts spinning when you unplug it is because it does. Without an acurate temperature signal the ecu goes into a safety map where it will assume the worst and put the car into safety boost and turn on the auxilary fan. You can get a replacement plug from TTZ Performance just like the one below.

    Zorroloco...as Wykked said, if the plastic bit

    is broken, best to get a whole new connector.

    If the pins inside are too far corroded and you can't shiny them up, let me know and I will mail you a couple...:cool:

    Thanks for all the help! I managed to shine up the pins but...

    I think when i did that i must have damaged the connector and next time i had a look it was loose to touch. I will follow your advise and get my self a new connector.
    Thanks again Guys:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
