Bigger Brake upgrades - which kit will fit?

    Hi guys,

For a particular set of rims I have, the front calipers are cleared by 5-10 mm. Are there any complete Brembo kits available whose calipers would either be slightly larger than factory, or would clear the maximum distance of 10mm? If not brembo, some other reputable brand? I would like to avoid having to shave off part of the caliper to make it fit.

    Thanks,
    Joe

Maybe get some different wheels

My GTR Brembo's fit under my 17" Rays wheels, but don't fit under my Work's. Just needs a spacer to get them to fit.

How big of a brake kit are you after?

I happen to have some 18"s I need to sell... from the pic below

Yeah, I've got a set of newly purchased 18'' Rays. I had spacers previously to accomodate the old rims, and went with Rays to avoid having to use 'em this time round.

Have you got a piccy of the clearance as it is now with the stock calipers? The Brembo's seem to sit a bit different to the stock ones and have more clearance laterally than you would expect. Where abouts are you? If you're in Brissy you can come and try your wheels on my Z and see if they clear. Rays wheels are too nice to swap for brakes :D

Thanks for the offer, but it'd be quite a trek to get to yours :)

I'll try to take a few pics when I get my camera back from a frugal relative.

    Hi Rob,

Is that JP's old set? Are you after a better performing set?

    Nar that's my old set.

JPs old set with semis is currently on car, and I have a new set of Gram Lights waiting for rubber

Technically, at this position on the globe, we're all upside down. ;)

Infallible logic aside :D, currently Sydney, but I've been abroad more than I'd care for these past few years.
