So just to clarify, what sort of rwhp are u chasing? 400? 500? If I was doing a build on a budget, engine wise I'd buy: Stock low km series 2 heads, rail, lower plenum - $800ish Cams JWT - $950 Valve springs $350 New Lifters - $750 Forged pistons - $750 Cometic MLS Gaskets - $200 Machining and labour $1500 ARP studs $200 Replacement seals, gaskets, bearings, bolts, VCT springs, misc $700~ That should guarantee a pretty decent engine capable of up to 500rwhp with supporting mods at around 6k... Other things to buy / supporting mods: GT2560R Turbos/JWT 700's $2500 Nismo 740cc Injectors - $800 MSP or AMS manifolds - $700/$500 ToyZ 3" Dumps $400 3" Full Exhaust $1500 Selin dual Intake kit $350 Haltech ECU $1500 Boost Controller Profec B or similar $400ish + shipping $400-$500 approx 8-9k right there... + Labour of engine pull etc if ur not doing it yourself. On top of that (if u really wanna): Leader gears (if u can find em) $1300 installed Coilovers $1500 Big brake kit $2000 Camber arm kit $500 Think I've just spent 20k without labour lol It'd be a killer zed tho!
I'm not looking for a dyno queen.. xD Aiming for about 420HP - 500HP I'm looking for mass torque, good pull away power. I figured, if I'm doing everything at once it will work out substancially cheaper, especially if I have to pay for labour with some bits and bobs.. (retuning to suit bigger + better parts... ETC) I'm looking into all of the parts recommended, I'll see what I can pull out... I'll keep you's posted with part names, prices... ETC. Once I get a full list, if I get the A-Ok, I'll get on it right away... If there are better options, change the list...
If your only looking for such a small amount of Horse power, going a Haltech ecu is a waste of money! Talk to (90ttz) & (bennyc) they've made more than that with nistune ecu, oh and there is really no need to get forged rods as the stock ones dont usually fail under 700hp. While the engines coming from the states are really well built, im sure you could find a quality engine builder here in aus, this way you save heaps on shipping, however ive heard such great things about the heads from EPR in the US. Honestly tho, you really dont need to spend heaps of cash for such a small power figure, it could be done pretty cheaps if you pick the correct combination of parts. hope this helps
Rather do the rebuild than buying a pre built motor,it's way more fun and a great learning curve on the ins and outs of the VG motor. Iv done this twice over so i can tell you ,Before blowing your big budget on mods you need the basic rebuild bits: Full gasket kit Water pump Oil pump Forged pistons + rods Full timing belt kit + all new sprockets etc Look at perhaps a new wiring harness Arp head + rod bolts Mods + support mods for your upgrade turbos. Gt2860 rs turbos Bigger intercoolers Bigger injectors New down pipes Exhaust headers Upgrade radiator Haltech/ nistune or similar boost controller Could be missing a few things perhaps.you should check all that against your budget Still labour/machining costs to be added. The bulk of this should be purchased from coz,his pricing is relatively cheaper than z1 and you have more options on different brands according to your budget. Regards, Ash
save yourself some bucks buy my zed jun stroked 3.2 hks 2530s, msp manis,740s, 2.5 intercooler piping, ashspec massives, z1 58mm throts , 500horse low boost, all the fruit, including microtech, gtr fuel pump, leader gears, gtr33 brembos list goes on 23k
Woah, didn't know anyone on this forum was running the Jun stroker kit! Do you have a build thread mate?
not sure where the thread went it was a while ago must have got deleted when the forum changed over to the new format
Whoo there slow down. Quick... Ignore that man he is clearly not in a right state of mind. While we're at it Mods quick delete this thread. No mention of what has been suggested here will ever be heard of again.
