is there a specific person you guys recomend that does good prices or knows their shit on z's? just looking to get a general service coolant changed plugs changed oil changed and also getting a fan temp adjuster thingo that i want to get installed which basically just requires twin thermos to be installed and a new plug in for the ecu that runs to the thermos, cutting the top hose and putting a water temp sensor adapter in there
Do you want to know who is the best mechanic in WA or who we think is the best mechanic in WA (that we know of)? If it's the latter, then I think Dave at Precise Suspension is. Many other people don't. I've never been there when there's not at least one Zed in the shop. I've been going there for almost 5 years and he's only slightly let me down once or twice. That's not something that I can say about any of the other places that I've been. Speed Works, Giant Nissan ... I think that Jaybo is happy with him but I know that CurnZ isn't. At the end of the day you have to take your chances. Evan.
for safety mate you are pretty safe doing it yourself, especially since you can get discounted stuff from work. you also know exactly what has been done. however if you are looking for a specific z mechanic there are a few good shops around but generally charge a premium price
Ive been to hyperdrive and precise suspension, But I recomend tom from pzp by a long shot! Perth Z Performance - Z32 & JDM Performance Specialists Ph: 0438 843 467 Email: tom@perthzperformance.com.au Address: U3, 10 Pensacola Tce, Clarkson, WA, 6030
i can do the full service myself the problem is i dunno how to firstly install twin thermos and secondly connect the thing im getting to the ecu tune it etc thats the only reason why......and to install this thing i need a nismo thermostat so i need to drain my coolant anyway basically may aswell just get it all done at same time
Where are you If in northern suburbs go to Tom at PZP, member of this forum so not hard to get details for. if in southern suburbs, I use Tim at Sik Em Wrex Racing in Mandurah, Ph 95818577. Very good mechanic and does any work on my Zed that I dont do ( he also fixes my F$#k ups ) and he is as Honest as the day is long. Hope this helps, Andy

I can vouch for Tom, he's a great guy who knows his stuff. Drove an hour north to see him and hopefully gonna be going back again within the month. Go see Tom
Hey thanks for asking the same question i was going to. Let me know where you end up going and how it was, as i have just got my first z and will need someone who knows their stuff. Cheers
can recommend Dave at Precise. Just got my zed back from him and i am one happy camper. Been to a few mechanics with the zed and even though i haven't had a bad experience yet, i found Dave to be a stand out. Daily calls as to the progress, nice clean straight forward itemized invoice and also gave me options when problems came up a few times. Can't vouch for Tom but from seeing him at a few tech days and buying a couple of parts off him, stand up guy who knows his stuff. Suck it and see
I've heard some bad things about Precise, but honestly i have no experience there. My Zed was actually regularly Serviced at Precise by the previous owner, and from the receipts i've seen, they did a great job there too... I guess some people will always have bad experiences at different places.
Yes Tom is the guy to see, infact my car is there right now, i drive around 1 hour so my car gets looked at by Perth Z Performance he knows his stuff is very honest and he won't bullshit you around.
I've been taking my Z to Dave from Precise for a few years now, as did the previous owner. In the beginning I couldn't fault him but I think the last couple of times I've been to him things seemed to have gone downhill. Higher charges for less work done. We always seem to have to ring and follow him up with progress too. I believe he does know his stuff though, so it's a pity the service has deteriorated. I'll be trying Tom from PZP that's for sure.
Yeah, thanks for the question. I've been pondering this for some time. Got to get a plenum pull at PZP and talk about options for my other (dead) Z.
