    Morning all

I'm trying to strip back the paint from a front bar as to prep for a re-spray.

I thought I'd start with an 80 wet, however this is not working that well.

Keeping in mind that I'm a novice...is there a better way to do this? Am I completely going about it the wrong way? Is 80 too fine? Better tools to do the job?

    BTW it's a Stock Z31 front bar.

    Cheers

I'm guessing because it's a stock Z31 bar it would be Polyurethane. Any tell tale signs that would give it away?

if you look at he back of the bar the poly ones are yellowish in colour and more flexible the glass ones you will see the matting through the resin.
    II assume it is poly.

way to coarse and you dont wet rub coarse paper anyway.

You shouldnt have to strip all the paint off if it is factory paint or 2 pack.

rub it back with 180 or 240, feather out the chips and scratches. and only sand it back enough to take the shine off the old paint

So I could apply a primer and colour (two-tone btw, love the 80's) without it being too chunky?
