So my passenger seat has been the victim of a few spills over the years, just wondering what the best cheap product for de-staining them is? Material is the grey carpet looking stuff.
They have been proffesionally steam cleaned before and it turned out great but trying to sell my zed now so don't really wanna pay heaps just a good product to DIY.
There is a valid reason why professional cleaning is more expensive than DIY(it's directly related to the level of successful results obtained). How much more do you expect to get for your car, by cleaning the seats? Is it a justified expense?
+1 There is really no other alternative that can be regarded as fool proof or 100% successful - with the exception of dry cleaning - whether it be DIY or professional - anything else is a gamble and can even make things worse
I am expecting to get $0 extra but hopefully make the car more attractive to buyer who may have some minor second thoughts. That is why I was hoping someone had a $10 diy product they could recommend (like carpet stain removers but i'm not going to use anything unless I know it won't hurt the seat) that will tidy it up a bit.
You would be better to use warm soapy water and a soft brush. Use plain soap(not scented Bath soap)and do it several times(making sure to rinse ALL the soap out of the fabric, each time). Good Luck!!!:zlove:
You could take the cover off and chuck it in the wash with some napisan. Then repeat until clean enough. Costs about $1 but it's a bit of work to put the cover back on.
Hire a britex machine from bunnings, carpet shampoo extraction machine, and watch the the brown stains you never knew you had come straight out.
I've got a set of leather seats in pretty good nick not perfect better then average tho 60 if your interested
While we are on the topic of cleaning. What would be the best method of cleaning OEM floor mats. I just picked up a set today and they are in need of cleaning. Would steam cleaning be appropriate for the material?
