Best water/Meth injection option?

Im looking for opinions with regards to water/meth injection.

Only really interested in first hand knowledge on the matter, like preferred system, mounting points used, trigger mechs ect. Pre/post turbo/tbs

I've done some reading over the past week but would like to hear others thoughts.

Easiest is in pre throttle body pipes, either hard pipes or silicone.

Quite a few off the shelf kits available, I used the snow. You can put together your own kit tho. High PSI pump required.

yes easiest is pre throttle body.

I looked at this but not much point with E85.

Any good using a kit like this to spray directly onto the intercooler face?

I used to run a ghetto fmic spray, on the back of the windscreen sprayers. Worked quite well without any data to back it up with, other than making my twd stop flashinf at me while boosting up mountains in summer.

must of been working to some degree then

Yep it def bought 'coolant temp' down almost straight away. Must do something to intake temp as it obviously passed over fmic before it hit the rad

Cheers for all the info thus far everyone, Very helpful.

Still unsure if i want to go pre or post turbo, but now you lot have me wanting 2 kits for pre TBs and external ICs cooling. :D

I had a sprayer setup on my first racecar. Turbo Supra with a big ass FMIC. Made a big difference to the intake temps and the coolants temps. Problem was carrying enough water lol. Without the sprayers going on the straights the thing would overheat after a couple of laps

how long/many laps would it last with say the standard size washer bottle?

I was using a 10lt marine fuel tank strapped in where the passenger seat goes. Would get maybe 10mins out of it (only using intermittently, mostly on the straights).

From the many dyno and drag results i've seen, pre turbo works better. The system must be well thought out though, the water needs to be atomized before it hits the compressor wheel. No one wants dull comp wheels :p Pre Turbo water extends the compressor map and allows more power than the turbo could produce on its own. I'm still keen to put pre turbo water on my zed plus E85 :D

E85 really is a much better option then water meth injection systems. Methanol is better again.

    98 is cat piss

Agreed 98 Cat piss, E85 second best , Methanol is best , and methanol is the best intercooler , best sprayed pre turbo

I think it would of been wise of me to state what setup I am going to be using the injection on.

Im planning to run a mostly stock S2 TT, only things really changed are porting and intake/exhaust.

    Auto turbos, AT.

So Meth before the turbo will help me see over 20+ psi out of my tired little turbos. downside, it HAS to be Meth, water just wont do here will it?

Water before the TBs will help me run aggressive timing, but the stock turbos will run out of go pretty fast..

Soooo, on a stock setup which would be more beneficial i wonder?

Water/Meth injection uses a much finer spray than spraying an intercooler. Maybe Karl can shed some light on how long a particular amount of water would last?

A particular amount of water all depends on the size of water held but also the injection rate and nozzle size..
2 500ml nozzels will obviously at max flow use a lot more then 2 250ml nozzels at max flow .

1 gallon container should last around a full tank of fuel, even over depending on your driving style and when its tuned/programed to start misting

That is the sort of info that I believe is relevant. Good stuff procky.

If you never use boost you'll never need to fill the water tank ;)
