Hi, I have decided to do a twin turbo build for my zed, the plan is forged pistons, straight through exhaust, front mount cooler, bigger injectors and pump and e85 conversion (hoping for 320ish kw)

Just after some recommendations for the fuel set up, ie, what injectors and pump are other guys running for e85? And is that a reasonable power expectation?

    Thanks

You wont need forged pistons for 320kw.. my tt engine has subaru 820cc injectors and is going to be on e85. Stock tt pump is fine.

theres no real "said" best injectors for e85 just really if they are compatible and also flow enough fuel...

depending what you have i have a set of sard 650cc for sale which are compatible for e85. will be fine with fuel pump and stock fuel setup.

me personally im running 1000cc injectors but also upgraded fuel pump etcc...

What is the flow rate of the factory twin turbo injectors? And I think I will have to change the pump also as it is a factory non turbo car.

And regarding the forged pistons, I bought a twin turbo engine cheap but two of the pistons in it were damaged, I have it fully stripped and figure if I'm going to replace them I may as well go forged, leaves more headroom for power

Use a tt pump, stock injectors are 370cc

if your going to purchase a new pump get a walbro 485, gives you heaps of leg room for future upgrades.

if your just going good 2nd hand just get a tt pump should be good enough to run what your chasing.

stock twin turbo injectors are 370cc

So your keeping the factory turbos ?
    Building the bottom end?
And want to run e85? Sounds good, however if your going to trouble of forging the engine might as well get some BB530 or 2560 turbos at least to take advantage of it

Add some 1000cc injectors and you'll be fine .

    But

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just a suggestion. Ultimately I think your best path is to really define what you want to do with your build and what your budget is

I would change the turbos but the two that came with the engine have recently been rebuilt and are in perfect condition so it's hard to justify replacing them.

Only going to forged pistons because they need replacing anyway, I might end up doing the turbos at a later date.

By all means any suggestions are welcome. I am in no rush to get it finished so plans may change as I go anyway. But the end goal is to have it on club reg so I can get away with no egr, no cats, e85 tune ect.

Suggest away! I'm just collecting parts at this point. Any opinions on JE forged pistons?

I don't have a wealth of data to back this up so hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think you can expect and extra 10-20kw with a healthier torque curve pulling to 7krpm rather than 6k by uprgrading to a ballbearing T25 based turbo still running 10psi, this effect is greater with more boost so for your target power upgrading is a pretty good idea.

Will the Walbro pump be compatible with the zeds multi speed controller or best to delete said controller?

Could just bypass it and run full voltage from go ? ;p

I would consult Walboro, I've heard of some pumps not working with variable voltage and some burning out faster if run at 100% all the time, they may need their own controller.
It would be a good idea to at least do the dedicated power to the fuel pump relay mod
