    RBZ 260 Z nutcase

last few month have been crazy for the z32 and me.

I've been flat out busy with my new house and Z trying to stay out of trouble. But trouble seems always to find it.

Firstly all of sudden the clutch on the Z started to be very low.As soon as u release it it will grab. It has a ceramic button so u can imagine how hard will it be to take off with it.

Checked the master, no fluid. Top it up seemed good. Couldn't see any leaks so I left it at that.
2 days later same problem. top it up and had a better look.
The flexible hose from slave to the clutch line was wet and dripping. looked like hose itself.

Ordered new one from Nissan for $60.
kept topping it up every 2-3 days while the replacement part sitting on the back seat  Just had no time to replace it.

Eventually 5 weeks later it was pissing out of it. Bought new brake line spanner to aid the repair and not to risk damaging the nut. Once under the car noticed the twit before me had rounded it off and gave me a huge headache.

took the car to friend of mine who has a hoist (my pit is taken up by project car) we managed to replace it which included cutting/heating and lots of bad language. 5min job into 4hr job. it took us while to get it all bleed and running as good as before.

2 weeks later this happens to the poor Z.

Was parked at a fish and chip shop having lunch, and a 4wd reverses right into it. This is 1 week before I have to move in to the new house. The car was needed on daily basis. So not a good timing.

luckily my missus took some time off so used the other car while this one went to the crash shop to get fixed.

Luckily the guy who reversed into it was top bloke and his insurance took care of it. His excuse was he just didn't see it from his 4wd.

Week later, car fixed with replacement door and glass and whole side painted. now looking better than before. pic coming soon (need to wash the car)

Thanks to Barry and AdelaideZcars for supplying the parts.

same time the battery decided to give the ghost as well.. so that got replaced and battery tray cleaned and resprayed.

one thing left on the list was badly wearing front tires which had quite a bit of inner camber wear. replaced the tires got wheel aligned and toe was out on both side by 1.5mm which explains the wear. which is not suprising as previous owner went through a brick fence with it.

had the car for almost a year now, and I can say that even though had few small issues with it , its still its more reliable than some new Kia's and Barina's my relatives drive.

not bad for a 21year old car. :zlove: only reason I never bought a z32 previously was for the urban myth of "unrealiable" and "too hard to work on". So I stayed clear of it. i know now don't believe everything.

I don't find it any harder than working on my S14 200sx.

Making repairs so easy wouldn't be possible without this site. Its good to get a head start on the issue and whats involved prior to ripping it to pieces aimlessly.

Bring it on the cruise this weekend! check the coming events.

Agreed that the Zed gets an unfair reputation, but we know better.
