Is there any reason why Z1 Motorsports don't include the 2000cc injectors as an option for the BDE Top Feed Fuel Rails? https://www.z1motorsports.com/fuel-...d-fuel-rail-package-90-94-tt-only-p-8508.html
Because the 1700x are better. Claim to be fine enough to idle well on petrol and still big enough for big hp on e85.
A couple years back Brett told me that the Bosch 2000 were not great for e85 due to the material the injector is constructed from.
The bosch 2000 (gas injector) come with a note that says not for use with liquids. Not sure what the arrangement is between bosch and ID, obviously the ID state compatible for all fuels so I'm not sure what is changed.
I quit offering ID2000s with my fuel rails because I cannot control the quality of the fuel people use with them and Z1 only lists the injectors that I offer for the sake of simplicity. The ID2000 injector is actually a gaseous propane injector which ID has flow tested with liquid gasoline and then grouped based upon their flow characteristics. They will work with all liquid fuels but they are susceptible to internal corrosion from alcohol based fuels that have been overly saturated with water. This problem has been fully disclosed (http://bde-performance.com/E85.htm) and is not a fault of the injector, it is a fault of the user who either doesn't understand the hygroscopic nature of alcohol or who openly decides to ignore it.
Yep, can't be leaving E85 sit, stuff is like brake fluid (though probably not as bad?) After every event or track day I always completely drain the tank, replace with 20lts of 98, and then run the engine for half an hour. Doesn't see E85 again until the day before the next event.
