NSW Battle the Skylines May 2nd

Heading to Wakefield on May the 2nd for a skylines Aust track day.

The 1st official Wakefield track day for 2009 will be held on Saturday May 2. As usual all are welcome, especially newbies. Last year this track day had 50% of the entrants being newbies. It was great to see. The reason why the newbies feel comfortable coming as well as the experienced folk is how we run it.

The first sessions for the newbs are done with an experienced driver in the passenger seat giving tips. We structure this day, officially, as a driver training day. After this newbs can go out on their own the rest of the day but there will always be plenty of experienced track heads on hand to jump in and give you a few pointers at any time.

The attraction for the experienced track peeps is pure track time. We limit the day to 46 cars which means heaps of track time.

Now for the great news:

As a special treat for members we are making this a $70 track day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will still need a CAMS or Wakefield licence, more on those later, but the club is charging you only $70 to participate in the track day. Non member cost is $140. If you were feeling really sneaky you could become a member for $60 and then it's only $70 for the track day. $130 for track AND membership!

The Drift Z is going too!

Yep, Jason and I are going to both drive the Drift Z at Wakie SAU day... Maybe there will be another show down between Jason and John... And with a bit of luck I'll be allowed to bolt on some drift tyres and see how the circuit setup slides.

I might come for a look see, unfortunatly the car won't be ready for a bit yet.

If only i knew earlier that you guys were heading down to wakefield. Im going on the 17th May with the Nissan sports car club for their trackday down at wakey.

Would have be great to show the skylines how it is done..hehehe

Im planning on coming down to this one too, I have never driven Wakefield Park Circuit without Franz in the passenger seat yelling at me

I was in hope of getting a start, but unfortunately, my only KRUDD stimulus package is to work this Saturday.

Yep The SLot Car will be there mixing it up with the Skyline crazies. It will be good to have Drift Zed out there again for a good go. Conditions willl be near ideal sunny and 15c.

I plan on a 1 min 3, although old front tyres so maybe a 1 min 4. With changes to the car last 4 times there I have averaged a second faster each time. Doing a few tweeks to it over next few days.

Will be an awesome day, I was actually hoping to have my skyline ready to go too, but unfortunatly it will be a few more weeks off... and knowing me I'll put it back on the back burner now there is not going to be a way to get it to the track on time

I also have Wokkies latest project in the carport in front of the garage... Which is currently immovable... so I'm having some issues here too. lol.

Will be good fun to "drive" the Drift Z for the first time... although sliding is my prefered method of killing tyres
