I've had a good run with Exide.

People say they're not real good but I get on average 4 years out of an exide.
I never buy their cheap or middle of the road models, always get their best battery.

    EXIDE EXTRA X55D23C fits perfect
    550 CCA
    105 Reserve Cap
    3 year guarantee.

And best of all it's sealed no maintenance.

    About $170 at Kmart.

    Exide are known to leak.

Get an AtlasBX battery if you can, RAC carry them http://rac.com.au/Motoring/Car-batteries-and-truck-batteries.aspx

I agree with Chrispy to a point, most batteries (unless you are going really cheap and nasty) will last around four years. Go for a sealed type, 600cca, 3yr warranty and you should be OK.

Just make sure you clean your terminals and the posts on the new battery before reinstalling.

Or if you are an RAC member (even if you're not it's worth the $19...) get them to test your old battery and replace if needed. You know the job is done right, everything cleaned, the battery will be secured properly, and in the event of a warranty claim they will come to you and fix it up.
