Was a long trip! G/f $ I drove straight down the Newell Hwy to Melbourne, with an overnight stop at Forbes. Got the Spirit across to Devonport, and then crammed in 3 full days of touristy stuff on the way down to my parents place (70km south of Hobart) via the East coast and Midlands. Spent 3 weeks over Christmas & New Years down there doing day trips, fishing, etc. then another 3 days heading back to Devonport via the West coast. We got the day sail back to Melbourne; VERY rough in Bass straight! Stayed the night in Melb. Caught up with WYKKED on his way home from late shift, and drove back to Bris via the Hume Hwy, Olympic Way, and the Newell Hwy.
The only car trouble was a nice coating of fresh tar and bluemetal on my wheels/wheelarches/sills etc. courtesy of some roadworks North of Dubbo. The tar had melted in the heat as it was still fresh.
6000km in 4 weeks has proved the reliability of my Zed!Good to be back!Pregz

Good to hear you made it.....>>

Home in one piece, your G/F was looking a little dead on her feet in Melbourne. Still feel up to driving half way back at Easter time? If so jump in and book as I hear the hotel is filling fast. You shouldn't have a problem finding details as there are posts everywhere about it.
