Well done to the organisers of this trackday, Autosports. A well planned event with
50 entrants from a variety of motor clubs. Some very serious machines out there,
including a couple of zeds. Jason ZX2NV and myself held up the zed flag and showed them
the what zeds are all about, awesome on the track.:zlove: OZ 300 came along
for support and got some happy snaps, so I hoping they'll be posted.
I was having a blast until after the 6th session, I cracked my DBA 4000 rotor. [IMG]
ZX2NV's silver rocket launcher was showing up all that got in the way, say for a bogan
in a white XR8, who thought his car had three 8's attatched.

I'll try to post some more pics a little later.

holy crap that's some serious rotor damage!! time for a brake upgrade Wayne!!

what kind of lap times were you guys doing?

Bugger of a rotor there Wayne!!!

Yup I went along for a look see but didn't many pics at all. I turned up late.

ZX2NV got stuck with a lamer bunch of drivers in his draw - guys doin' stupid/dangerous things and was sensible to withdraw. Particularly some guy in a V8, who tried to outbreak ZX2NV at the end of the straight and going straight on, then heading for the tyres in the dirt - damn close.

Also, Wayne played the wimp in the braking zone once he found a small imperfection in his brake setup - WHAT THE !!!! (Just kidding - really glad you got home safe and sound.)

    Before the tough break:

Sorry Jason, no pics on the circuit, but very nicely turned out car:

Check out the hydraulics (inspiration from the Schnoz on the Concord, or is that the Murcielago):

Someone should be able to come up with a solution that lies it flay on straights and vice versa for braking etc ........

    Now the prime subject:

    Summer.
    Good driver pushing car hard.
    Way above standard hp.
Need better brake ducts and bigger brakes.
How did Jason's brakes go this time and is his phone working??

It was a pretty good day when it started out. Great organisation from Autosports with funky little group stickers for the window and name tags the whole 9 yards. The track was a lot bumpier than I remembered which caused my car to bump steer a lot, after soem adjustments had it holding the track better and blowing away all in the group even lapping a couple a few times over in the ten or so laps (crazy stuff) There was one blue WRX giving me a bit of a go but when the hammer went down it was no contest then as a few put it a bogan in an XR8. Up his arse for the full lap pressuring him he makes a mistake on the entry to the straight up the inside I go 18psi and see ya, back off a bit due to the heat and back to 14psi the 8's catching up as I slow for the kink of turn 1 then break hard the XR8 is getting closer and closer and I thought shit he is gonna hit me I quickly hook it right into the corner and take a real sharp line to the apex he goes straight ahead off the track and into the dirt. The damn fool tried to outbreak me and was just damn dangerous, every time I go to overtake mid corner etc he would nail it and start fish tailing out of control very scary stuff so I decided to call it a day and head home. The car was very quick and cool running 18psi the highest temp I got was 94 degrees with an EGT of 880 LH and 920 RH pipes.

I think she would have been good for a sub 1 min 9 something I tried my lap timer but too much traffic I couldnt get a quick lap in,

My brakes are finally spot on thanks to Kevin and the guys at Specialised Brake and Clutch, they had my car back and linished the rotors and pads this time and now I find the tyres are not sticky enough for the brakes, no fade just shear brute breaking force 150% happy with the setup just have to get the rears too.

Wayne (Ports) was on fire as usual and the burgundy beast sounded sweet down the straight, He was having some good fun a built N/A S13 and a couple of Evo's and WRX's one of which in our group caught fire mid track.

Thanks again to Pete the resident Wakefield track whore photographer, always good to catch up mate and thanks for your help on the day

And glad to see Wayne limped the beast back home on the cracked rotor. He actually did a session while it was cracked too.

Cant wait till the next one as per usual.

Oh and the wing and actuators performed flawlessly. At 170 odd down the straight at full extension there was no motor creep and the boot lid withstood the pressure all in all a successful test just need some form of control system now was thinking of a break controller type setup similar to the type used in caravan electric breaks. They use a pendulum style controller that activates when breaking g forces are applied the controller regulates the ouput voltage to break harder or softer depending on pedulum position. mmmmmmmm thinking caps all.
