I was browsing through the old groups buys in regards to the EL panel and how to illuminate the 300zx logo located on the back middle centre panel. This got my interest, as i have never hear of electroluminescence. Long story short i started googling the tech and I found an Aussie website that stocks a whole range of EL material's. (Not advertising for them, nor have i ever bought anything form them)

    ^Subtle. I like it. ^

I spotted an automotive section and it got me thinking. Surely someone could find a tasteful application for this in a zed interior/exterior?

Have i got anyones interest?:confused::)

    Thoughts?

IF you can find them that is. NEVER seen the altia 1/4 windows come up for sale. Last set of door kick panels sold on yahoo auctions for $177. Cheap, but in very poor condition. Govaard (GZA) is in the process of making reproduction LED illuminated kick panels that definitely look the goods, but he hasn't replied to my inquiries regarding production date :(

These waterproof LED strips Clicky are available online through Hobbyking.

They are adhesive backed and can be cut down (into multiples of 3). Lots of handy bits & pieces on their site.

What!?!?! I have to go look this up. Never would have even thought of such a thing...

Mmmm.... I'am all for LED's but; anything i had even used that was adhesive always ends up going bad. Although, nothing a little RP 7 won't fix! :D
Had any experience using these? Interested in how bright they are.

I would love to see someone put some of these sound sensing wires around a sub box. Could be interesting. :)

"The driver box can be placed anywhere, preferably close to a sound source (not radio) where it will respond by flashing a continuous line of glowing light with every thud from the speakers. It will even respond to clapping and human speech. Sensitivity of response can be adjusted so that the flash may be anywhere between intermittent or continuous."

Look just like the original Altia's. Couple of posts of them on US 300zx forum, then died in the water :(

The Gonzor ones are reproductions. The original green EL Illuminated Altia panels looked a lot more like the GZA reproductions.
Link for the originals that were on Yahoo

Fingers crossed that the GZA ones soon come into production. Stoked with the quality of the rest of his products thus far

    I have these.
Every time the air gets too moist, the EL panels burn out at the connectors.
I've replaced both sides twice now, and have been experimenting on ways to waterproof them (obviously unsuccessfully). I suspect about 3 feet of concrete would do the trick
