hey guys do any of you know how to drain the auto trans fluid out with out droping the pan or un plug the tubes form radiator to pump out as much as I can any help will b great is there any way to adjusting the slippage as well or do I need to take it some were to be service
Mine has a drain plug... if yours doesn't dropping the sump is the only way to change the fluid Edit: or a long hose down the dipstick and suck the fluid out.
With all due respect....... .....if you need to ask these questions, take it to a professional & get it serviced. If you would prefer to do it yourself, perhaps reading the Automatic Transmission section in the Nissan Factory Service Manual (F.S.M.) may assist.
I just did this myself. Mine is a TT but didn't have a drain plug, which is a bit sus because I thought all the TTs were supposed to have a drain plug and NAs weren't :S Just make sure you jack the car up high enough to get a large pan/plastic storage container to fit underneath the sump, so when it drops you catch the torrent of oil that pisses out everywhere. I found that I could pry the back side corner off and let it drain out before taking the whole thing off. Also you will need a new seal and you may as well change the filter as well. I bought them in a pack from repco for about $80, but I have a feeling they are probably cheaper elsewhere.
i just undo the pipe going into the radiator and start the car.. pumps it out in no time... DO NOT TAKE THE CAR OUT OF PARK. then refit and refill though dipstick pipe.. easiest option by far. (unless you have a drain plug.)
if your going to change the fluid do the filter as well, other wise your just leaving the crap the filter picks up to go in the new fluid, bad mistake ,service kit $45 from Repco.just did trans change and i saw the mess improper services can cause (not pritty).
