Simple as this, the transmission isn't doing anything, and it's pretty low on trans fluid so I go to top it up, and yeah, I put like 60mL in and the reservoir fills up. So I turn in on and It should pump it through right? Cause it's not :S Check the dipstick and there is a tiny bit of fluid on the very tip, hot or cold engine. Could there be a blockage or have I plugged the lines from the tranny to the radiator? Slowly getting through this rebuild, nearly done... Any help is much appreciated
Yeah, drop the old fluid, manually clean out the filter or buy a new one, flush the enire system with either Castrol Transmax Z (expensive) or what I now use is Penrite SIN Auto Comp Fluid (only $32.50 for 4L, fully Synthetic but only lasts 20,000klm or so) Scrap the stock fluid through the radiator cooling shit pronto! Purchase & install the biggest trans cooler you can fit & when you get the time & money go for a shift kit This is the best advice I can give from my own expieriences, or you can ditch the auto & go for manual conversion, believe me if you are having troubles with your auto now there really is no quick fix & it's time to throw a few $$$ at it. Sounds like you've found the cause of his filling problem, he's probably dumping it into the brake fluid reservoir.
can you take a pic of where your putting the oil. your not putting it in the power steer ressie are ya. doesnt matter if you are as they the same fluid tranny fluid needs to go in the dipstick on the drivers side near the fire wall
LOL wow i am such a retard. practically rebuilt a car (with help from the awesome fellas here) and ive started building another car from scratch BUT I CANT TOP UP TRANNY FLUID WITHOUT EFFING IT UP. hahaahahahahah. thats like building a computer before you can put in a lightbulb.
i blame it on that empty carton behind me yeh, ive been dumping it in the power steering resevoir. it has some after market lid/level sensor with no labels. at least i know where the oil, coolant, and brake fluid go.
yeah thought so, yeah just a little bit. popping out to get some more shortly. early finish today thank GOD turbo seals gone? i just put a new engine. the oil aint milky but theres smoke coming out of the exhaust. :S no way is it the head gasket. i will actually take my own life if it is. i just replaced the engine for that very reason.
just took it for a drive. got about 500m up the road and couldnt see out my rear. it was sluggish and heavy as all f**K aswell.
revving really low, think it might be dropping a cyl or two every now and then aswell. and theres a bit of smoke coming from somewhere in the engine bay also....turbos right?
