My Z32 TT auto gearbox works ok when car is first started but after warm appears to 'slip'. I mean, putting your foot on the accelerator will simply rev the engine without the car moving. Seems to be all gears, forward and reverse, but when left for say 15 mins everything will be fine again. Haven't yet been able to check if the problem will then repeat again.

When it first happenned I was driving home from work (about 20Km) and halfway it happenned. Waited 20 mins and drove home no problem. That night took it for a spin about 10 km no probs. next morning left for work and got 2 km. waited 1 hr for tow - got home - still no good - waited for 20 mins and all normal again.

Any ideas? Have already checked fluid levels, fuses and changed fluid. I used Conzult and there were no apparent probs. but I have tried again since and can't connect to gearbox ecu.

Problem Chart on page AT-93 94 & 95 of manual.

Associated numbers to the left tell you which order to approach the fix and reference page to the AT section at the top.

    Drop the pan

Check the fluid, if its brown its rooted, I had something similar turned out the clutch packs were in the process of disintergrating. autos boxes are complex so there could be a numerous causes, if its terminal start saving or better yet do a manual conversion

highly likely your box is stuffed i see this all so common. replace it now with a box from a vq30det and be done with it. pick up a good vq box for 200 bucks
