if we go out before the 2nd round of the world cup then the australian goal keeper should not be allowed to play again, i don't know what guus was thinking on changing goalkeepers when the normal one hasn't done anything wrong not like the couple of blunders by the current one

kalac should never be able to own a z atleast as punishment for his crap game lol
it's a pity emerton is going to miss the next game atleast as i think he has been one of the best players in the team, do you think guus was excited for the team or the fact he gets a $850,000 bonus for making the 2nd round? it was a bit wierd with the croatian getting a 2nd yellow card but not being sent off

    Australia Play to Win!

If Guus has taught the socceroos anything, it is to never be satisfied and rest on their laurels. Hectic game to say the least, I still can't believe Mark wasn't awarded a penalty after being so blatantly obstructed early on after the 1st Croation goal. That reff should be taken aside I think. In the end though it came to nothing and Australia go through to test their mettle against the Italians. Aussie Aussie Aussie!

Anyone seen any footage to know if kewell was offside for the second goal?

Pity he didn't get the other one either.

And viduka not getting a penalty, ffs. Referees in this world cup have been nothing but amateur.

The ref should be drug tested!!

That hand ball in the box was so clearly a penalty, and three yellow cards show to the same player, who stayed on untill the finish, was very odd-wrong! But we wone, fantastic!!! Now for the Italy, no work on tuesday!!!

    Kewell did look offside

but so many other mistakes were made by the ref against us, that it evened it up, we deserved to win!!!

I believe so but it was hard to call because he was onside before Aloisi flicked it on.

youse is alls ruddiwell spotty ons ... one hell of a mess

od a game ...hand balls in goal, offside goals, unpaid fouls ..yea, aye and all of the above and more ... can't see that ref getting another game for a while...???

and how mental was emerton .. disputing the ref for his handball .. now takes the long walk .. bloody idiot ..!!1

    I think Emerton

got the card for the actual handball - breakin up the play they had down the left at the time - not for disputing the call - either that, or he got it for not giving the ball up straight away (did tricky little heel flick thing)...

And re: Harry's offside goal, I'm of the opinion that the ball came off a white-shirted head, not off the aussie *wink, wink*

it ended up being 4 - 1 ronalado got 2 goals and is now equal with gerd muller as the leading world cup goal scorer

Wonder what the odds are on him bettering that record

before the end of the cup? I don't think it'd pay very much... Pft, fat and old my ass, he'd be in my world 11 everytime :)

Edit: now I think about it, just swap him for Viduka in the Aust team and that'd almost be my world 11 atm...
Ronaldinho asside, of course - he'd come off the bench for Harry LOL

Ronaldo may be fat and slow, but instead of all out power, he actually aims. Check the highlights of the japan v brazil match. Only missed a hatrick because of some good work by the japanese goalkeeper.
