Just got off the phone with Mark at MRC Dyno Castle hill - was having a chat to him about the NISTUNE GB we're doing & how much it will cost to have it tuned - drive in/instsall board/ tune/dyno/drive out - he said $850, asked if he could do it cheaper if I got 3 or more Z32's in & he said he could do it for between $750 - $800 depending on how much time he has to spend o the vehicles, so $750 - if it's all straight forward So worst case is $800 IF we get 3 or more Z's together that need to have NISTUNE installed & tuned SO........ who's in/terested? Yeah, I told him that we're all getting our boards in a group buy & that we'd be supplying them He did say that he charges abit more than others because he doesn't just do a simple tune - he matches it to the state of your engine/setup/ performance bolt ons etc Dunno - what's your opinion on how much it should cost? Mark does quality work but his prices are very high. I'll be getting mine tuned by a close friend of a mate of mine for about $200-400. Guy does incredibly impressive work. My mate took me for a spin in his R32 GTST which has 184rwkw which was tuned by him and it is a beast, for sure feels like it would give my Zed a run for its money. Interesting considering prior to any upgrades I was pushing 211rwkw. Mine has been running a safety tune for over a year now, given all the upgrades VERY keen to see it tuned, aiming for about 250rwkw. But yea, back on topic, those prices are pretty expensive. I actually was going to take my Zed to MRC to get it tuned, not now. If some guys here are keen to get it tuned where im getting mine done, I can have a talk with the guy see if he'd be up for it. Any tuner, tuning a car (of any kind) on an dyno will be tuning it to suit how the car is modified, as the modifications have a direct bearing on AFR's, timing, intake temps, etc. I'll second that price is high. Should only need a couple of hours on a dyno to get the tune right especially if he "knows" nistune, and going by that, he's charging $400/hr dyno time.
This is my 1st time getting any car tuned/dyno'ed so I wouldn't know a thing about average cost/ time taken to do it etc MoulaZX - I would definitely be interested in having a look at what your friend can do - does he have the NISTUNE programme, what about a dyno? Is he a mechanic/workshop or "backyarder" Cheers

Gave my mate a call, asked him to find out if his mate would be interested. Preliminary results say of course (who would turn down more business eh? lol). Yes, its a garage. Yes he has a dyno. He is in Wetheril Park. Will PM his contact details to those that are interested and have confirmed price range for you guys later on today Just to confirm I think two of you were going to get him to install the board and tune it, correct? Cause I'll be installing the board myself and just getting him to tune it. So yea, will have price of just tune and price of installation + tune. MoulaZX
On the topic of tunes for the group, last night i checked with a workshop called Envy imports he offered $600 for a tune + installation. He also offered to match the group buy price for any members who missed out and decided they now want a tune. It will just give us some options for who to go with. I will be keen to see what you mate comes back with and then we can decide. Terry
Hey mate what is the name of the place in whetherill park....its not Ken is it who owns the place? cant remember the company name. Envy imports complied my car and have had issue with them in the past....they seem very dodgy to tell you the truth....they get great numbers for their own cars and do a good job but have heard bad reports from customers that have left with problems....this is coming from people that live all over the northern beaches where they are based.
They have a nice clean 2+2 manual TT for sale on their website. Nice website too, pity their getting a bad reputation they are just around the corner from me..:bash:
Yep when I was looking at 300zx's they tried every way shape and form to get me to buy a skyline, since they hate 300zx's they said, since they always break down and have to o warranty claims with them, recon this is not so with skylines :bash: :rofl:

I've heard good things about this guy as well. I rang him for a quote to rebuild my engine. He said $8-$10K. Eric from A2Zed in Brisbane is doing it for less than half that and freighting it down to MRC. But that doesn't mean he's not all right for general stuff.
