Anything else I should check?

Before burning more money and buying another battery.

Got up this morning at the wonderful time of 4:10 to find a flat battery. Lots of clicks but no start. Jumped it off the wife Getz and away I go.
I had to stop for petrol wouldn't start there either. Got to work and still hasn't got any charge. One would think that after an hours drive it should have recharged at least a little.

Is it just coincedental that I clean her yesterday including the engine bay. No big spray of water just a rub down with a cloth.

    Cheers

jumpstart again and check the voltage going into the battery while the engine is running. if it is not at least 12.5 volts (preferably 13) you have an alternator/charging issue

Here's a real newby mistake for you.

Check the battery terminals, dont just give them a wiggle and say 'yep, thats tight'.

I appears that some water got onto my, not quite as tight as I'd thought, terminal and enough corrosion had built up.

    Resolved by removing and cleaning.

    Cheeers
