Just wondering if anyone has a good writeup for how to install the 99 jspec xenon headlights? Thanks.

Thanks, I read that one before but I noticed it referred to the US spec wiring being different. Is it the same for the jspecs? I was hoping perhaps someone had written something a bit more detailed with some more pics.

I wired mine up myself, wasnt too hard.

I went and bought the pre wired ones from coz however the plugs are completely different from US and J-spec cars. I just cut the plugs off and soldered some new ones from Repco on. The other thing to do is to modify the J-spec wiring so that when you turn on the high beams the Xenons stay on. Xenon lights dont like being switched on and off constantly (like if you are driving in the country at night flicking the high's on and off for traffic) and factory Xenon lights usually are wired to opperate this way. The way the factory lights work is to drop the earth off from the relay that powers the main beams when you switch on the high beams. To change this, I just wired a short earth wire from the relay to a nearby 10mm bolt for both relays. (there is 1 for each side) Not sure if I have explained this very well but send me a PM if you need further help wiring them up.

But then the HID's will come on if you flash your high beams. I did the mod as per tech section with the diode and lots of wire. Worked well.

Next tech day, maybe you can help me out with that one.
I've seen a few tech articles offering various ways of doing it, and I was tossing up which way to go.
If you've done it b4 and are happy, maybe you can assist or offer advice.
It can be disconcerting when you have been on high beam for a while, and when switch back to lows, the HIDs are ineffective for about 3-4 seconds until they sufficiently warm up.

so do you find the earth on each relay and add a wire to it and run it to the body ??????????
