The two strips on the side of my windscreen are a little worse for wear, and they're beginning to look quite ugly. I could strip them back, but having chromeish strips on the front and black on the hatch/targa's would look kind of weird. Also, I don't like the idea of chrome trim on a red car. I remember reading about someone covering theirs in heatshrink (can't remember who), and the photos looked absolutely unreal, but I also remember them telling of how they perished within 6 months... So as the topic states - has anyone found any good UV reisistant heatshrink yet? :zlove:
Search for "Roof Rail Strips" Look for Z-ster post he say's his has been good for 18months and still going strong. Also has pic's in the post PM him to ask where he got the heat shrink from. Cheers
Re: Alternatively, paint with Plasti-Kote matt black. anyone a member and care to move the pics elsewhere? very interested as i do not want to spend $432 for a moudling kit on my 2+2.
Link inside Link here The difference will be noticeable if you decide to only do the strips on either side of the windscreen. Even replacing it with new OEM items will look different to the targa sections due to the effect of aging
Re: Link inside ok i just registered, saw the images and they look ok. anyone care to host these pics?
Re: Link inside ok here it is. just a note, the example pics are actually the moudling/(rubber???) behind the door moulding. would this work for the rest of the mouldings? Click to view full-sized image! Hosted by UGBox Image Store
