These Got mine on Tuesday and installed them, one of them has already blown last night ! Made sure not to touch the glass when putting them in, although it was a little stuggle to put them in around my BOV's... Anyone else had this happen ? Cheers, Matt.
Yup. I think there was a post in the last couple of days about these. I found out one of mine died last night. Probably 2 weeks old. I might shoot an email off to Gregg at Importscene and see what he's got to say for himself!
Me TOO!!! I sent ImportScene an email advising what had happened, still no response. I even sent a 2nd email as a reminder. Mine lasted overnight. Damn things. Maybe we should be taking this up with Silvermax and not importscene???? Sounds like it has happened to enough of us. And at a cost of $35 inc freight, shouldn't be happening. Cheers Fate
We shouldn't have to take it up with Silvermax we bought them through importscene, we should deal with them and they should take it up with Silvermax... I was going to say if I didn't get a response form importscene in the next few hours I'd phone them but they don't seem to list a phone number anywhere !! Their Customer Service blurb seems good but have to wait and see if I get a response... No it really should't be happening, esp. as it seems like the norm not just a one off occurrence... I've also ordered these, probably last about as long as the silvermax but I thought what the hell for $12 Matt.
I wrote importscene a email & got a reply from Gregg... I have exchanged a few emails. Here's first reply: Here's another:
Sounds viable, but haven't some people on here been running 100W for years without any problems ? Matt.
I'm scared now........ I just bought 2 sets of these globes and am waiting for them to arrive. I hope i haven't wasted my money.
If it were me I'd be returning them unused... and buy a decent set of Phillips H3 bulbs. Of course you'll need to perform modification to the wiring if your car is a J-spec via Method1 or Method2 (thank god for IB!)
Philips ones are great The BlueVision H3 55w are circa $66 at AutoBarn - these are the ADR approved bulbs. Throw a lot more light than my old bulbs, that's for sure! CrystalVision are the next ones up @ $99. These ones are not ADR approved, thus you'll get booked for a defect I assume. If you're more concerned about vision than legality, go for these. The only reason they couldn't get ADR approval for the Crystals is due to the fact they don't meet the 'operating hours/bulb life' specifications of the ADR. That reasoning is straight from Philips itself
Seconded, I'd return them......>> Even if they wont give you a refund you should be able to exchange them for something else that might work better.
